I’ve been pondering that question lately. Is it spiritual? Is it career? Money?

See what these smart people have to say about it:

I have finally discovered the perfect weight loss (ehhm.. release) program for me!

For years I have been living and spreading the word about the Law of Attraction, and the connection between your thoughts/beliefs and your results.

However in the weight department, I kept falling short. Ok that sounds ironic… But after having three kids in 5 years, I seemed to be stuck with this extra weight, and just unable to “visualize it away”. I did try several diets, and was even very successful with one of them. But evetually I just regained the weight, with extras!

I realized that I must be missing something. Something beyond will power. That is why I was so excited when I came across this program. Finally someone like minded who promised me I could get results by bringing my subconscious onboard. Obviously fighting the weight loss battle on the conscious level alone wasn’t working. I was compltely ready to try something new!

Enter Dr. Robert Anthony into the picture.

Is there an area of your life that you find very difficult to successfully apply the Law of Attraction to?

“I’ve all read the books and watched the videos. I know enough to write books about this stuff myself. So why is it still not working for me?”

If you’ve felt that way before, it’s ok, don’t be hard on yourself. When you start understanding and applying this law, you will naturally find it easier in some areas than in others.
The determining factor is how much resistance you have for that particular subject. The more negative beliefs and memories you have associated with a subject, the harder it is going to be to “master” the control in that area. That’s obviously not saying it’s impossible! Just that it will probably take a little more work (conscious awareness) on your part.

In my life, my most challenging area has been bringing up my kids in the “Law of Attraction Way”. That to me means allowing them to follow their inner guidance, without letting my own resistance (and fears) get in the way. This has been tremendously challenging for me. You want to teach your kids that the world is a beautiful place, with limitless possibilities. However you also want to make sure that they are safe, and know how to be careful of potential dangers. This is a bit of a contradiction. Teach them about fears and inflict your own resistance on them, or let them follow their little hearts to bliss? Wouldn’t it be irresponsible of me not to warn them not to speak to strangers? Or will I turn them into scared, closed people?

I know this is not merely a Law of Attraction issue. This does go beyond that. But as a constant student, practicer and coach of the Law of Attraction, I am faced with this issue daily. Honestly (and obviously…) I don’t have all the answers. I’m learning as I go along. I believe life is one long continuous lesson and you never really get it done.

However, if I were to try answer this question (say if someone came to me with this issue) I suppose the basic formula would have to be applied:

“Look within and follow your inner guidance”.
This sounds very simplistic, I know, but it’s really the only true way to deal with things. Do what feels right. What if I don’t know what feels right? Find out!
Meditate, do what ever it takes to get in touch with your self, your core, that beautiful place within you where all the answers abide.

(I love how I’m giving myself a LOA coaching session through the blog, lol! :) )

On my next post I intend to discuss other areas of my life which I found challenging and tell you what I did to conquer them.

What areas of your life do you find most challenging to apply the Law of Attraction to? What other areas have been easy for you? Examine what was the pattern that worked for you in those areas, and see if you can apply it to the other more challenging areas of your life.

Have a glorious day!

Have you ever noticed how older women are much less worried about what society thinks about them? By older I don’t mean 80 year old. This change starts sometimes at 40 or 50 or 60. There is something calmer about these women, which says “This is who I am!”. No more apologies, no more trying to please anyone. Do you know what I’m talking about? I often look at these wonderful women and wonder if they were always like that? Is it a personality trait? But my conclusion is that where as some women are naturally more self confident than others, this kind of maturity and self acceptance is different. I can’t help but wonder why we need to wait until our 5th or 6th decade before we finally have the courage to simply be ourselves?

Why is it so scary to dare to be me??? This has been my own personal task for the past few years. We are all so brainwashed with what is expected from us, that we too often loose track of our own desires. Our own voice almost lost within the constant outside blabber pounding us daily.

I believe learning to listen to our inner voice, and having the courage to act on it is an art we need to relearn. I say re-learn, because as children we knew it. A child doesn’t sugar coat their feelings to please anyone. Not at first. When society and upbringing teach it differently, the child learns to adapt to the environment and “fit in”.

But why is it so important to us to fit it? We are no longer in high school, there is no popularity contest. It’s just us and the life we have created for ourselves, hopefully surrounded by people who love us. These people will most likely accept you even if you don’t “fit in”. And you know what? If they don’t then maybe it’s time to re-evaluate your relationship with them… ?

One way I use to connect to my inner self and hear my inner voice is through daily meditation sessions. I find this both calming and centering.
Another important aspect is merely being aware of how you feel about certain events and subjects during the day, and analyzing the associated thoughts. Are these thoughts *yours*? Or have you borrowed them from someone else? Are you functioning on automatic pilot as far as your responses are concerned?

I recommend you take a good look at these, you may be surprised at what comes up ;-) .

Wishing you the courage to be YOU, because you are fabulous!!!

P.S.
If you’ve never meditated before, or would like to improve the quality and benefits of your meditation sessions, you may want to try what I use which is the morry method. I’m sure you’ll love it as much as I do.

What was the answer that came to mind when you read the question in the title?
I hope you said “No!”. But if you said “yes” – then I’m very glad you are here and reading this.
Please, for the next few minutes, open your mind, and allow me the benefit of the doubt while I present you with a different point of view.

You see, my answer to that is: “Hell, No!”
I could give you countless stories of people way older than you, who decided one day that they were going to make a change in their life and achieve a certain goal (note to self: bring some of those stories to the blog!).

You are never too old to look into your heart and find out what desires you have been hiding there. That inner voice that has been trying to catch your attention for ever so long will be delighted when you finally listen to it.

You may argue that at the age of 70 you cannot become an Olympic gold medalist tennis player. That may be so, but if you’ve loved tennis your whole life and were always too busy to take lessons, maybe now would be a good time to start? Perhaps a gold medal isn’t in the cards for you, but how great would it feel to start a new hobby that you will enjoy? Something that is only yours, not done to please your husband or your kids. Done to please YOU. Because you deserve it!

The change could really be anything. I’m not telling you to walk into your boss’s office tomorrow morning and quit your job of 30 years (well at least not with out a back up plan ;) ). What I’m suggesting is that you open yourself up to the possibility that maybe (just MAYBE) it’s not too late. Because once you change your belief about something, circumstances begin to shift too. Ask yourself what were to happen if you pursued your dream? There must be something that is putting you off, or you would have done it ages ago, right? The way I see it, we always have a choice. Your choices may have consequences, however you are never in a situation where you have no choice. So what is the worst thing that would happen if you did what you are dreaming of? Maybe this consequence is not something you are willing to risk right now. But you should still be aware of the fact that you are making a choice, based on your view of reality. Once you realise this, you start to move away from the “victim mentality” holding so many of us in place. Blaming circumstances is the surest way to remain exactly where you are. Which is exactly where most people feel most comfortable. That is why so few people ever attempt to change the things in their lives which they are unhappy about.

At the age of 30 I was married with 2 young kids.  lived in a place I did not like and held a job  I totally disliked. I felt as though “this is it”. I honestly felt old and boring, and couldn’t believe that was going to be my life for the next who knows how many decades! Don’t get me wrong; my husband and kids brought me tremendous joy, but I still felt very uninspired and rather depressed at the thought that this was the peak of my life, and that it is all going down hill from here. You see I couldn’t find a job that satisfied me, and the feeling of emptiness started getting to much to ignore. That feeling I later learned to identify as a disconnection to myself.

Certain events that happened caused me to realize the lie I was living and opened my eyes. I then began my journey of self discovery which would ultimately lead to a much happier and more meaningful life.

Looking back I see where the change began: with the realization that things could change, if I change my outlook on life. Once I started examining the limiting beliefs that were holding me back, I realized that all of my limitations were self-imposed. This made me feel so empowered! I began see the future in a much brighter light and believe that anything is possible! And you know what? Once I started believing that, the world started presenting me with proof of that new belief (as it always does).

I now have a much more meaningful life. My family moved to a wonderful new home in a young beautiful neighbourhood. I left the old job, and now do what I love which is empower people to dare live their greatest life!

I honestly believe that it is never too late to realize you are in control of your life, and have the power to change it and achieve your goals!

Please consider one thing: if you don’t take the chance on yourself today, when will you do it? Next year? Five years from now? When the kids grow up? What will be different then? Will it be any less scary then? I don’t think so. I think new excuses will always come up. Until you make that decision to wake up your hidden potential at a true joyous and meaningful life. Only by taking responsibility for your life as it is today, can you begin to change it.

Is life really worth living without passion? Was life supposed to be a punishment or a gift?

I think it is a wonderful gift, which is yours to enjoy! So what are you going to do with it? What example are you going to set for your kids?

I’d love to hear where this post meets you in your life. Please feel free to share your own experience by leaving a comment below.

Have the courage to dream big!

What is Hypnosis?

Posted by: Nicole Barkai | Comments (1)

By Mike Bowers
What is hypnosis? Everyone has an impression of hypnosis. In many instances this impression is based on movies, television shows, comedy acts and what someone else has told them about hypnosis. To be honest and blunt, most of what the public knows about hypnosis is inaccurate at best and many times completely false.

Here is the truth about hypnosis.

Hypnosis is a natural occurring state of mind. Hypnosis is simply a state of focused attention. Anytime you put your complete attention on something you’ve entered a light state of hypnosis. Think back to a time when you became so absorbed in a movie or a video game that you completely forgot what was going on around you. That’s a focused state of attention and that is hypnosis. That’s it. There’s nothing mystical about hypnosis, nothing magical, it’s just you getting yourself into a focused state of attention. Unfortunately there are many misconceptions about something so simple and natural.

For instance, many people assume that the hypnotist does something to put the individual into hypnosis. False! The hypnotist has no power over the individual. All hypnosis is self-hypnosis. The hypnotist knows the instructions that, if you follow them, allow you to hypnotize yourself. This is the only way that hypnosis works.

Sometimes you’ll hear someone described as “highly suggestive” and very easy to hypnotize. What does that mean? Simply that the person follows directions easily. That’s it. There is not truth to the rumor that some people cannot be hypnotized. Remember what was said in the prior paragraph, “all hypnosis is self-hypnosis.” If someone does not become hypnotized it is because they chose not to follow the instructions. That is the only reason a person does not become hypnotized. There is no other reason.

Because a person chooses whether to follow instructions or not brings up another fallacy of hypnosis; the mistaken idea that the hypnotist is in control of the hypnotized individual. Movies, TV shows and comedy acts love to create the impression that the person who is hypnotized is under the control of the hypnotist. The opposite is true. The person hypnotized is the only person in control. They can accept or reject any suggestion given to them. They can even terminate the state if they choose to. If you’ve ever been to a hypnotic comedy act you may have witnessed this.
Here’s how it happens.

Late in the show the skits have an unfortunate habit of becoming more sexually suggestive. As the comedic hypnotist is giving a suggestion you’ll see one or more of the people on stage flinch, jerk or move in some way. The comedian will go over to the person, whispers in their ear, the person gets up and is then escorted off of the stage. What just happened is that the individual rejected the suggestion with such authority that their mind pulled them completely out of hypnosis (that was the movement). The comedian knowing that this person has emerged from hypnosis escorts them off stage to preserve the act. What the patrons have just unknowingly witnessed is the ultimate in personal control while under hypnosis.

One final common misconception about hypnosis is that you “black out” during the experience. Wrong! While you are hypnotized you are aware of everything that is going on around you. At the end of the session you remember everything that was said.

That’s a quick overview that answers the question, “What is hypnosis?”

To recap:
Hypnosis is a naturally occurring state of mind.
All hypnosis is self-hypnosis.
Anyone can be hypnotized if they choose to follow the instructions.
The person hypnotized is always in control.
When you are hypnotized you are aware of what is going on and remember everything at the end of the session.

Affirmations have been used by successful people for
centuries. It has helped many ordinary people achieve
extraordinary results in their lives. It has turned many
failures into successes. It has made many miracles happen
in the history of human evolution. However, the majority of
people who use affirmation find that it doesn’t work. Why
is this the case? What are the elements that people have
missed when they use affirmation techniques? I constantly
ask myself these questions, and seek for the answers. The
result is, no one book gives the complete answer. Some tips
given in one book work for a specific situation, but not
for others. Other books give other tips that work for other
situations, but not for this. I have tested and filtered
out the ineffective ones, and left only what I call the
ultimate effective technique secrets.

The purpose of affirmation:

Before I give you the effective techniques, I must make you
understand the true purpose of affirmation. Simply stated,
the purpose of affirmation is to pass a command from the
conscious mind to the subconscious mind. The subconscious
mind has the ability, in anything it accepts as true, to do
whatever it takes to turn it into reality. The purpose of
an affirmation is to pass a message to the subconscious
mind, and to make it believe the message is true.

So this brings us to the first element of an effective affirmation:

1.The affirmation must be believable to the subconscious
mind

Most of the affirmations people use, fail at this first
stage.
They tend to give an unrealistic message to the
subconscious mind, hoping for a positive response. If you
are financially broke, and you say to yourself “I earn
$100,000 per year”, is this believable to your mind? If
your body is totally out of shape, and you say to yourself
“I am very attractive”, is this believable to your mind? I
doubt it.

What if you are currently broke, and you want to make
$100,000 per year? What if you are out of shape, and you
want to make yourself attractive? I find the best and
easiest way is to use the word “I choose” in your
affirmation.

Instead of saying “I earn $100,000 per year.”

Say “I choose to earn $100,000 per year”

Instead of saying “I am very attractive”

Say “I choose to feel that people find me attractive”

Do you feel the difference?

2.The subconscious mind seeks for proof

There is a misconception that the affirmation must be
repeated thousands of times before it can be installed in
the subconscious mind.
This is not necessarily true. You
can use the repetition method to embed your affirmation,
but there is an easier way. It is, at the time you find the
proof, state your affirmation. Many people stay in poverty
because they associate pain with money. Whenever they spend
their money, they think of their bills, loans etc. This
will automatically lead to ultimate pain. It is the feeling
you attach to money that makes you rich or poor.

How can we turn this to our advantage? Instead of feeling
pain when spending money, what if we associate pleasure
with it? Next time when you go out shopping, at the moment
you take out your money or credit card, say this
affirmation to yourself “I always have more than enough to
spend.”

See how you feel. This works because the subconscious mind
sees the proof. As long as you have some money left in your
pocket, this affirmation is always true, so the
subconscious mind will believe it.

How about if we combine the first and second methods
together and make an affirmation like this: “I choose to
feel that I always have more than enough to spend.” Say
this at the time you spend your money. See how you feel.
You don’t have to repeat it thousands of times, a few times
of real life proof will make your subconscious mind believe
it.

3.The affirmation must trigger feelings

A fact about the subconscious mind is that it does not
speak in words, you can only communicate with it through
feelings, and emotions.
There are two methods that you can
use to trigger your feelings. The first method is to use
words that involve feelings. Words like “fun, enjoyable,
comfortable, delightful” will work effectively. The second
method is to use imagination. Visualize that the situation
stated in your affirmation has already come true. See
yourself in that situation and feel the feelings.

4.The affirmation must obey the 3 Ps factor.

The 3 Ps are Positive, Present Tense, and Personal.

Affirmations must be stated positively. Instead of saying
“I am not fat”, say “I choose to stay slim”. The reason for
this is that before the mind knows the meaning of, “I am
not fat”, it must think of what fat means first. So saying
that statement will inevitably lead to the feeling of being
fat.

Affirmations must be in the present tense. Many books
mention this. However, I only agree to some extent. If you
say “I have a luxury car”, your mind will not believe you.
The reason I include this here is that once it is combined
with the first technique, it will work perfectly. Now say
“I choose to have a luxury car”. Your mind will do its best
to bring it into reality.

Affirmations must be personal. Your subconscious mind only
works for you, not for others. If you say “Ann loves me”,
it will not be effective, because you have no control over
Ann. Now say “I choose to feel that Ann really loves me”.
This time you are in control, because you can control your
own feelings.

5.Personal development affirmations should be stated in the
comparative

“I am confident” may not be as effective as “I am becoming
more and more confident”.

An even better affirmation might be “I choose to feel more
and more confident”.

The reason for using the comparative, is because there is
no end to how much more confident you can become.
Otherwise, your mind may think you are already confident
enough, and it will not need to do any more work.

These 5 techniques are the most effective ones that I have
found from my research on affirmations. If you can use all
the 5 techniques, I guarantee your results will be amazing.
Even if you only use one or two of the techniques stated
here, you will find your affirmations will become far more
effective.
